Parts of an electrical system that are in series are arranged in a single line so that the current flows through each part, one after another.
If two bulbs are in series, there is a single conducting path.
These three components on the electrical diagram are wired in series.
These transistors are in series.
Are the speakers connected in series or in parallel?
If you're going to put these components in series, you'll need to make sure that they can each handle the full voltage of the line.
