superdelegate
noun [ C ] US uk/ˈsuː.pə.del.ɪ.ɡət/ us/ˈsuː.pɚ.del.ə.ɡət/
(参加美国民主党或共和党大会的)超级代表
a delegate to the Democratic National Convention or the Republican National Convention who has not been elected, usually one who has been given the position because they are a party leader or an official. Superdelegates are free to vote for whichever candidate they want, unlike elected delegates, who have to vote for the candidate selected by the voters in their state.
